Lifeless
Love and friendship Poem
Joe sat in his house, a house made of red,
He pondered the party of fun that lied ahead,
He knew she would be there, he knew she would wait,
He hoped that tonight he could ask for a date,
A shower so great, it made him feel new,
He put on his clothes as it seemed like time flew,
He got all together, sweet smell and all,
He grabbed his coat and went off to the ball,
He showed up not longer, and joined in the fun,
He grabbed a fresh beer and said, “I’ll just have one,”
He looked for the girl, she was no where to be,
As he walked up stairs, not knowing what he’d see,
Billy was with her, in the room long a head,
Billy; Joe’s best friend and her in the bed,
He opened the door, beer in his hand,
The door was then slammed by Billy’s demand,
Joe went back down stairs with fire in his eyes,
But hided his anger; He needed to disguise,
He joined in the party, as tears rolled from his face,
14 beers later, His mind started to race,
He jumped in his car, it was time to go think,
He knew how much beer he just had to drink,
He went down the road, a road made of hate,
Just to think that tonight he could ask for a date,
Shattered, cold, broken within,
Joe still showed a hateful long grin,
He tore though the roads at speeds uncontrolled,
A ditch, 3 trees, that crash course car rolled,
Ejected from the seat Joe went 20 feet,
50 yards downhill from the street,
He lied in the pain, as he sat in the rain,
As 1 million thoughts then ran though his brain,
No one came looking, not even Billy the best,
He was having fun, just like all the rest,
With the girl that Joe wanted, Oh Billy he knew,
Joe was drunk, he was hurt, he didn’t think these things trough,
Joe lied bleeding with the rain pouring down,
2 days later, Joe he was found,
Lifeless along not 10 minutes from home,
Lying so lifeless alone.
