A Decayed Heart

Published by at 9:22 am under Betrayal Poems

I gave away my heart like a penny
I thought you would keep it safe
But i didn’t know you had to take care of many
So you dropped mine and it became a waif.

With all the pain i bore in my chest
It gradually became physical pain
I thought it was just best
To leave it alone in your lane.

After long you came around,
I didn’t ask you to tell me why
I was caught up in you to the ground
I would kill myself if you wanted me to die

But that was the day
When pages of darkness had my name
Just when i wanted to kiss your face
I saw my heart down there….it had decayed.

    love the third stanza
oh, btw, ur title was typo’d (dont worry, ive done that thousands of times) but writing it in caps is kind of… distasteful
    good poem, tho

I have corrected the title and changed the case
The caps do stick out like a sore thumb and look bad so please do not use them in poem body or title
