Frozen Stiff

Published by at 5:50 am under Break Up Poems

Your lips taste like regret, my dear.
Somehow you’re letting go.
The things you will not say to me
Are things I’ll never know.

Unless you open up to me
and let me see the truth
I’ll never know what I’ve done wrong
I’ll never be with you.

Your lips are cold as ice, my dear
Your heart is frozen stiff
Without you I can’t be myself
Without you I can’t live.

Unless you let me see inside
the secrets you conceal
I’ll not be able to repair
The wretched things you feel.

Your tears taste just like mine, my dear
They linger on your lips
And leaving me will break my heart
but yours is frozen stiff.
