Hard to love somebody

It’s really hard to love somebody
When you know they love someone else
The pain cuts deep inside your soul
It’s torture straight from hell

Those nights spent thinkin of you
And the love I feel in me
Make the breaking of my heart today
Go on so violently

Well, I’ve tried to love some other girls
To end my emptiness
But only you can fill this deep, dark void
A void called loneliness

But your eyes are just for him now
You seldom look at me
You use your voice on only him
While I suffer silently

"No more!", I scream in agony
"I won’t let this go on"
But I know that I won’t let you go
My love’s just too darn strong

But why is it that I fool myself?
It’ll never be you and me
Why can’t I just accept that fact?
Why can’t my stubborn heart see?

I can’t answer these questions
The explanations not in sight
But until I can forget you
You’ll haunt my dreams at night

    The best poem I\’ve read so far, seeing as it\’s the one I relate to the most. Except I\’m a woman, and my girlfriend still isn\’t over her ex. Not even after two years of us being together and 3 years of them being broken up. It kills me every single day.
    Beautiful, heartfelt poem.

      Hey so nicely written…. Its like me in the peom…. I wish i could get her out of my heart n mind but it seems impossible… She’s the one who’s on my mind while reading this.. I wish she would ever know how much i love her i wish…. Great work dude.
