If my soul is a piece of your artwork
If my soul is a piece of your artwork
and my soul is a part of my mind
and my mind is a part of my body
but my body is no longer mine
If my words do not end up on paper
and these feelings are nothing but lies
and my tears turn to ashes and anger
and I’m left with no reason to try
If my heart and my body remember
and my mind is too scarred to forget
and I swallow the shame that I carry
and I don’t stop til nothing is left
If I show you my broken heart’s beating
and you stand up and leave me behind,
does that mean you are no longer human?
Or does it mean you were always too kind?
