it was born to me an infirmity
that i shall love you eternally
at times with sullen heart and broken will
but yet this burden lain i shall fulfill

and though your heart is heavy yet
with past crimes none could forget
your tortured soul repentance seeks
as of a heavy burden your conscious speaks

my eyes spill tears as drops of rain
as your torment i bear as my own pain
at night shrill cries split the night
until dawns illumination shines forth bright

a new day hath dawn and with it hope
you will stay by my side and not elope
drive back your demons, let in my light
accept my love, let it join the fight

against your trials i’ll not let you stand alone
your acceptance of help has slowly grown
the weight of your heart you now let me share
i’ll be by your side, i’ll save your soul from snare
