An uncertain future

Published by at 6:19 am under Teenage Love Poems

I’m always doubting us.
Will we really last?
You deserve better, and I can’t give you that.
But when I dream about the future, all I see is you.
I always swore I’d never settle down.
No house, no spouse, no kids.
Just the ever present loneliness.
Then I meet you, the light in my life.
Now, I can’t imagine growing old without you.
I tell myself I don’t need you, but when you go away my independence crumbles, all my strength fall away.
It’s hard for me to say this, but what I really mean is life without you isn’t life, it’s just a depressing picture show.
