Beautiful Irony

Beautiful Irony

By Jennifer Holcomb

I begged you to love me
It couldn’t be done
emotion, passion, intimacy-you showed me none
I’m through trying now, my efforts exhausted my drive
The beautiful irony is now you need me in your life
Now you love me, it hit you head on
You show your passion, your fatal flaw is gone
Why do I feel this restless disgust
I should be happy, but leave you I must
I’m not fully happy, I’m searching for more
Maybe I’m destined to be dissatisfied, eternally bored
What answers are there–I pray to the Lord
The sadness engulfs me, it tightens my chest
I hate myself for hurting you, for looking at the rest
You’re a wonderful person, maybe it is you
Maybe you ARE the one, maybe I won’t see it till your gone
I’m not sure of the outcome, but I know one thing
This game is definitely through
You didn’t love me, now I can’t love you.

This piece is emmaculate, I think at one point in all of lives we all had that \”ex\” who came back begging for foregivness. It\’s one of the best feelings ever, especially when you could care less about them.

I can relate to this poem in more ways than one. I\’m only 15 years young nd I have a lot to learn yet I\’ve been through this numerous times. Heartbreak is my everyday feeling. I put on a smile and a little laugh here and there, but in the inside my heart is crying and screaming in pain.

  38. Ashanti Joneson 03 Jan 2010 at 4:30 pm

darn. i can totally relate. me and this guy broke up last year and i started dating another guy. once i dumped this other guy, my old boyfriend texted me and told me he wanted me back. but i was over him but i took him because i wanted to get over the other guy. now im in love with him again but he hasnt changed and he\’s still a jerk. im stuck between the both of them. my heart is suffering two diffrent types of ache. :upset
