Broken Bird

Published by at 2:01 pm under emo Poems

A bottle of pills in a trembling hand
One row of footsteps descending the sand
Unsteady feet and one muddled head
Asking for love, getting hate instead

One scream of anger, one scream of fear
Escaping the darkness with one leaking tear
Treacherous grounds and a gullible mind
Everyone’s looking but what will we find?

An empty house on the corner of the street
When, as I fall down, I admit defeat
The pain of rejection, the hurt of your lies
Increasingly hollow as all hope just… dies

One weathered wing, one take to the sky
One broken bird unable to fly
Frightening seclusion, alone with the moon
All birds are chirping one synchronised toon

Lovers are failing, the earth’s facts remain
There’s so much to lose, but not much to gain
One reach of the fingers, one touch of his skin
Temptation peaks out in the form of great sin

One hour passing, one minute til dawn
Deciet keeps us going but just not for long
The demons consume me, I can’t seem to breathe
Addiction and fear forbid me to leave

Pathetic won’t cover, the things that some do
They insult the other, but swear love is true
One breakup, one boyfriend, one desperate demise
She sees it, she hears it, but still she denies

One hot summer night, one drop of fresh rain
Washing away the terror and pain
One slam of a door, one gasp of surprise
One girl is laughing as another still cries

A bottle of pills in a trembling hand
One dying body lying limp in the sand
Unsteady heartbeat and one laboured breath
Asked once for love, but now getting death
