A wax doll is what I shall be
A carving made from stone
A thing of glass and frozen tears
A thing that stands alone.
A statue is what I shall be
From metal, wood and clay
Just welded pain and molded hope –
That’s what I am today
An object is what I shall be
To look upon in fear
A tall, imposing, fright’ning thing
That’s been created here
A canvas is what I shall be
A thing painted by hand
Made beautiful and of a kind
On popular demand
A sculpture is what I shall be
Bronze figure shines like gold
Then metal starts to age and die
Now simply just looks old.
