Even though we never were, and apparently can never be
My heart is broken, my eyes are dry, but yet inside I weep
To know I gave you my everything, in your greatest time of need
And to have it all thrown back in my face, is far from what I could ever conceive
in my mind, in my world, even in my wildest of dreams
I never thought it would be this way
I thought this happened only in movie scenes
You “love this feeling”, I don’t know what that is about
Perhaps it’s the feeling of shutting me out?
You say I’ll be in your life, for a while I’ll stay
Nonsense, it can’t happen if you’re pushing me away
But it’s alright, I’ll make it easy for you and flee
Honestly…I hope you enjoy your life without me
You know I’m talking to you, yes you do
If you feel as though I’m talking to you then perhaps it’s a shoe that fits you too

(Sometimes I feel as though I’m falling again
For you, and all that I know you bring
I guess it’s because I love you dearly
Perhaps, I did not explain that clearly
enough for you to grasp and contemplate
Or perhaps in your mind you’d decided to negate
me long before those feelings could even develop
Or become substantial enough to envelop
me in constant thoughts, of your sweet smile
In ravaging images, those thought provoking eyes
It’s done and dusted now, it seems
It’s, as though, the slate has been swept clean
Maybe you’ve given up on me
But before you say it, let me help you to see
That I too have given up on you indeed
But in my case, it’s not complete
It’s only until…….well it’s incomplete)

That’s all I have to say, don’t expect to see me around
Don’t be surprised, and don’t wear a frown
And please don’t apologize if you feel like you have made me hurt
‘Cos quite frankly, I’m losing what I don’t deserve…
