Ease the Ache

Published by at 1:24 pm under Lost Love Poems

And if I died, what would you care?
Just one more broken soul
I’m torn apart and cut to shreds
A blackened, empty hole.

I’m everything I so despise
Self-pity rules the day
Rejection turns my blood to tears
I’m used and thrown away

Security? It’s laughable.
You’re not secure yourself
So foreign and completely strange
Says wisdom lies in wealth

I’m poor in terms of happiness
I’m poor in terms of time
The years I’m using up by day
Are yours and never mine.

You offer up a tender word,
You try to ease the ache.
But every day your actions seem
More insincere and fake.

What shall I do to stay alive?
My life’s not meant to be.
When everybody wants me dead,
Will you still stand by me?

Enticing imagery kept hold of me until the last line.

    Simply beautiful.
