Echoing curses

Pure as snow, dirtied by this
No light, only darkness
Broken hearts, stolen trust
Stained as metal; full of rust

Tainted friends, stupid lies
No-one hears her silent cries
Hurt but healing, dying for him
Committing none but a lethal sin

Flashes of red, rage consumes
Countless girls led to their dooms
No gentleness – only pain and fear
Nothing left. No smiles or tears

Seduced with tales of love and life
Finding nothing but hurt and strife
Echoing curses, haunting screams
Innocence stolen, shattered dreams

Painful memories, she fights them back
Happiness is what they lack
Black-tinged mind, fearing silence
Visions flash, tales of violence

Hoping still, breathing quick
Fading like a candle’s wick
Clutching arms, frightened soul
Sobbing now as more tears roll

Not grounded now, floating free
Realized she was always me
No sorrow left, no lies to keep
I think of him as I drift to sleep
