Empty

Published by at 6:39 am under Heartbreak Poems

I found you that night in a bed made of ice
Swore I’d known you ages, but not known this vice…
‘Twas dark and unyielding, the chill held me close
Depression was Empty and all Empty knows –

is how to be deadly and how to be true:
when truth is the one thing I don’t want from you.
Destroy all my feelings and freeze all my fears,
see one lovely smile dissolve into tears.

I held onto hope and I held onto you.
I clutched at the love I’d once hoped could be true.
I found you a liar, I found you a thief,
I found I was dying of anger and grief.

Protect me from dying. I still want to live.
Kiss me with passion or ice or just with
a heart that ends heartache, a soul I could hold;
something to save me from unending cold.

I’m tired, I’m crying, I’m hurt and I’m sick
Love’s fading faster – love fades too quick.
Undone was all passion. ‘Twas frozen by you.
Depression was Empty. And Empty was true.

My god Pixie. I’m speechless. Can I claim this one as mine? Haha.

    AMAZING.
