I loved you

The bruises spread like fire
The heartache does the same
Remind me how I loved you
And I’ll crawl back again.

The anger leaves me aching
These words are harsh as hell.
Remind me how I loved you
And I’ll try to love you well.

The lies leave me so empty
The pleading leaves me bare
Remind me how I loved you
Remind me that you care.

The wants and needs are hollow
The truth is in your eyes.
Remind me that I love you
But remember it’s a lie.
