I Still Care
I don’t have any beautiful words,
Any works of art or the songs of birds,
I don’t have anything good and true,
Enough to say how much I care about you.
Please, little one, don’t die on me,
Because I am just not ready.
I can’t take it, no I can’t,
Listen to me weep and rant.
Please I’m begging you don’t do this,
You’ll find darkness only, there is no bliss.
The love you need is not in death,
It’s in the words beyond my breath.
There is nothing left that I can say,
That will light the candle along the way.
I just need you to know how much I care,
That I’d never hurt you, I wouldn’t dare.
I need you to know you’re not alone,
I never meant that clumsy tone.
I shouldn’t have left you when I did,
But I understand you, kid.
I wish I could hug you and tell you I care,
But just can’t be there,
I can’t make it all go away,
But you’re my friend that’s something I just had to say.
Don’t do this.
I wrote this for Pixie, I just want you to be okay.
Oh..
Uhm.
Great poem…
Ok. I’m a bit more emotionally stable now. My fav line was:
Please, little one, don’t die on me
Because it was so cute in its simplicity.
My fav stanza was the third one, because the rhyming was extremely well done.
The emotions in this poem were expressed really well, I thought.
P.s I hope you don’t mind, but I pasted it on my closet door.
