You’ve forgotten me so easily,

At the end I break,

I’m not quite sure anymore,

How much more my heart can take.

The songs we used to sing,
The lyrics escaped your memory,
But I know that somewhere in your heart,
You at least still know the melody.

The months keep rolling by,
Erasing your memory so fast,
How could I not have known,
Your love wouldn’t last?

The times you used to tell me,
“We’ll be together forever”,
Was that some kind of secret message meaning,
“I will love you; never”?

Left me out in the rain,
Your eyes are so cold,
The last words you spoke to me,
So discreet yet so bold.

Told of how you’d moved on,
And you didn’t care to hear me cry,
You make it so clear,
This this would be your last goodbye.

Maybe since you blocked me out,
I can do it too,
And don’t even think,
I’m just talking about you.

Maybe I can shut out the world,
Pretend that I dont hear,
I’ll listen to them whisper,
And memorise the sound so loud & clear.

I won’t speak; but I’ll watch,
As they lose the girl they once knew,
And I hope that they realise,
That it’s all because of you.

No longer will I laugh,
At all the funny things,
I won’t even bother to answer the phone,
Everytime it rings.

Nobody will see my smile,
Nor will they see my tears,
My guard will be up,
So nobody knows my hopes or fears.

My heart will remain broken,
That’s something nobody can fix,
Not even a magician so much like you,
With all his illusions & tricks.

This is a promise not a threat,
So darling I hope you know,
That you’re the one and only reason,
That I’ve decided to let go.
