Life’s Unfair
Karma, Karma, where are you?
My eyes are wide and ringed with blue
My nose is bloody – God, that hurts
I can’t remember who kicked first.
I try to stand up, fall again
They’ll kill me one day, question’s when
And as I lay here, bruised and cold
I wonder why God cursed the bold
My spirit’s broken, guess who won?
They seemed to think my pain was fun
I think of sadness, think of death
I scream at every painful breath
I curse their hatred, aimed at me
Innocence made me look guilty
Try to hold on, cannot sleep
For it might be endlessly deep
I feel it slipping, hope is gone
And strangely this does not feel wrong
I choke on blood and spit and tears
I think back on the past few years
I think of love and of despair
I now know that life is unfair
I miss old friendships, miss today
I think of life and finally say,
“Karma, Karma, where are you?
My eyes are wide and ringed with blue
I’ve lost my future, you don’t care
You aren’t real and life’s unfair.”
So sorrowful.
Thank you for your kind comment!
