Lost Conviction
Somehow I’ve lost conviction
And I don’t know who to be
And this ache of lonely silence
Has made sure that I’m not me.
Somehow you made me shameful
For the things I’ve let you do
And if I could take it all back
I’d not give it to you.
Somehow you must protect me
I am yours, but keep me safe
And if you could prove you love me
You just might restore my faith.
Somehow I’ve lost conviction
Will you give it back to me?
And then, maybe, we won’t falter
When I’ve chosen who to be.
