Modern Marriage

Published by at 2:37 am under Betrayal Poems

I ask that you not judge the girl
It’s really quite unfair to blame
A lovely girl for an alleged deed
For which she feels no shame

It happened very quickly
Her husband was away
A gentleman caller came upon her
And for three days with her he stayed

Was he really just an old friend?
We’ll never know for sure
But does it really matter what
Transpired between he and her?

Her devoted husband, bless his heart,
Is always away for work
And “getting comped an extra night
In hotels where “old friends” lurked

So when he returned and heard the news
And questioned her fidelity,
She simply brandished his lipsticked shirt,
He nodded, and they drank their tea.

    – This is so funny, I eat hard boiled eggs every once in aihlwe on my salads. But Kelsey LOVES eggs and I have been meaning to make her hard boiled to see if she likes them. I never seem to get it just right. I will write this down and hopefully be as lucky as you to make the perfect hard boiled egg! Thanks!
