My Lies Have Set The Stone
I hear the ocean all around,
And fear to drown alone
For all the days been forced on me
My lies have set the stone
I stand alone atop the sand
A phantom hand in mine
It’s like a wound that cannot heal
Just like it failed last time
Entombed in webs of pure deceit
I’m empty but for tears
And all these days amount to now,
are empty, lifeless years.
I clutch the hand too tight in mine
for fear of letting go
And all these hands are reaching out,
for one they do not know.
I fight the days and scream at time
I hope but have no faith
I hold on for the fear of not
But it’s not made me safe.
I’m sorry for those empty words
My lies have set the stone
And then the hand releases me
I’m sure to drown alone.

Great stuff Pixie, as always. You are extremely talented. It’s refreshing to see someone on here that writes so well. 8)
I appreciate the compliments ^_^
Dear pixie,
My name is Cleo Black and I am in a band. My band and I are really interested in this particular poem of yours, and would like to ask your permission to turn it into a song. All poem credit will go to you, and (if) we get any income from it, a portion will go to you! Let me just say, your poems are amazing. And we would love to turn this one into a song. My band is called Kissing Infected Lifeless Lips. This would be an alternative song. So… yeah. Thanks for reading this , and good job on your poetry, you’re amazing (:

I’m quite flattered. Thank you for the huge compliment!
I can’t see any problem with using the poem, although I would ask that you might give me some way to more formally contact you since I’m sure I’d like to be able to hear the song sometime :3
The money bothers me very little, I’d just like to see what you’ve turned this into.
AWESOME~ Okaaaay, email me at [email protected] and maybe I can give you another way to contact me, considering I don’t hardly use my e-mail. But yes, this will definitely be worked on (: and thanks so much ^-^
Pixie, I apologize for not updating you. My band broke up, and I’m just now starting a new one. We didn’t get the chance to turn this into a song, but my new band is working on it now. I’m really sorry! But I’ll email you once it’s done.
No reason at all for apologies. Good luck with the new band!
