I reach out to find something more
Find something deeper within her.
Explore that glimmer I see in her eyes.
A fire that burns within
That screams out for life.
A quintessentially innocent smile
Those brilliant pools of blue
That seem naive but trusting.
Unreservedly trustworthy.

A connection in five minutes
As if I’ve known her forever.
Understanding her demeanor
To me, is a puzzle half-completed.
And I find it worth the time
To convene… and ponder…
and picture her puzzle together
So that I may feel accomplishment
Rewards of patience, care, and diligence

The puzzle takes shape,
Which she insists is a mess,
Incomprehensible to all
Yet this isn’t my first puzzle
And in that spark within her eyes
At that instant, I caught a glimpse
The picture that the puzzle consists.

Working patiently with noblest intent,
Solving the puzzle to which I persist.
Hoping she will allow me to,
Help her make sense of the pieces
We can share this time,
Let the blossoms of collaboration bloom
We will solve this together.
And cherish the time spent.

Yet time, as it should seem
Is the enemy that I deem
And as it slowly tears us apart
I reach back for that timeless moment
Locked away in her brilliant blue gaze.

In the name that stretches out beyond the stars
In the name of the Almighty Love
Known as Yahweh, Krishna, Allah,
And my many other names to man.
I pray out with all that I am,
“Let the most important pieces,
Those of valor, steadfastness, and hope
Be intact and not lost to time.”
