The Addict & The Dealer

Published by at 12:14 am under Sad Love Poems

Lying, Using, Breaking
And yet I feel no shame.
You’re the one who made me numb,
But I’m really the one to blame.
I’m the addict, you’re my dealer,
My drug of choice is pain;
I always wander back to you
Surely I’m insane.

You undoubtably have your moments
They’re what always draw me in,
But your sense of humor and charisma
Mask a darker side within.
I feel I need another fix,
I know you can sedate me,
Though logic tells me to stay away;
You’ll lie to me, use me, berate me.

A tricky little companionship,
The addict and the dealer.
But I can’t afford you anymore;
I’m looking for my healer.

    Thank you. It’s ironic because the boy I’m referring to was my old dealer AND ex-boyfriend.
