Too True to Me
Untold of times I’d told of you
‘Twas said of words I’d sworn were true
Too true to lie, to say and be
Too true to you. Too true to me.
Unheard of once but not again
I’d known the cost, but not known when
And burnt a hole into my heart
This heart is worn and torn apart
And all my wings have felt the air
But some are still just drifting there
Without a poisoned, snarling tongue
There are no words still left unsung
Be gentle when you’re breaking me
Too true to you. Too true to me.
For all times told, I’d said to you,
That all these words I’d swear were true.
