Torment To Me
Just because I have a heart,
U think you have the right,
Stupid things you do to me,
These stupid things that make us fight,
Killing all the love I give,
Invading me with hurt,
Leading me to painful breaking,
Laying in this dirt.
Many others try to find,
Eternal love that is refined,
But never do they find this love,
Even when asking the heavens above,
Forget I even cared,
Or acted like I’m scared
Regret is here to stay,
Eternal love; there is no way.
I’d rather die alone,
Keeping to things in which Iβve known,
I’d rather be set free,
Letting go of this grasp you have on me,
Letting go of this insanity.
My mind is growing dim,
Your heart appears to follow him,
Selling yourself for money,
Eternal love: a term that’s funny,
Let’s forget you killed my heart,
Forget there ever was a start.
Forget that I was ever happy,
Or that I ever acted sappy,
Realize that what we have is gone,
Realize that what you’ve done is wrong,
End this game that you are playing,
And stop the lies that you are saying,
Lies you put in print; Lies that drive me to this torment.

love this π
This is beautiful. The words bring with it an aching sense of loneliness and heartbreak to me, bringing back old memories I’d maybe rather have kept buried.
These lines stood out for me because of how simple they are, and how they still manage to strike me as very lyrical and beautiful:
“My mind is growing dim,
Your heart appears to follow him,”
“Letβs forget you killed my heart,
Forget there ever was a start.”
You are an extraordinary poet.
Well done.
Thanks guys. =)
