Yesterday
Yesterday, she forgot,
Forgot to laugh at the funny things,
Forgot to smile at what made her happy,
Forgot to wave at the people she knew,
Forgot to raise her hand when she knew the answer,
Forgot to sing along to her favorite song,
Forgot to answer when talked to,
She just stood confused in the rain.
Yesterday, he remembered,
Remembered what it felt like to hold her,
Remembered the taste of her kiss,
Remembered when they promised on forever,
Remembered her chestnut eyes he could gaze into forever,
Remembered how beautiful she was when she slept,
Remembered her small, delicate hand placed in his; strong & able,
He held his head in his hands regretting goodbye.
Yesterday, they saw,
Saw her absentmindedly playing with the necklace,
Saw him flip through the stack of letters from her,
Saw her turn her head away when his sister walked past,
Saw him ask her bestfriend how she’s been,
Saw her writing his name over&over,
Saw him singing the words to their song,
Only they can see that their love will never truly die.
Today, she remembered,
Today, he forgot,
Today, they were blind.
But in the back of our minds,
I will always forget,
You will always remember,
And they will be the only ones who know the truth.
umm damn you are deep
Thannks, haha.
I just . . . Write what I feel. Haha.
Customer Video Review Length:: 2:21 MinsLoved this book! So romantic and iprsining, and it really surprised me how much I could relate to each of the poems. I was even more surprised that my boyfriend picked out something like this as a gift for me, something he’s not really into, but it was perfect! Very endearing and insightful. There are tons of different poems, ranging from abstract ones about the emotion of love to specific moments in time, like when you first meet someone or your wedding day. I definitely recommend this book, it’s the perfect gift for your sweetheart! <3
