Rising Water

Published by at 1:16 pm under Heartbreak Poems

Drip, drip, drip,
My tears fall to the the ground.
It is dark, I am lost,
My tears are the only sound.

A prison, I’m traped!
I cannot see beyond the door.
The room is dark, dank and cold,
Water covers the floor.

Shackles, bars, locks from steel,
All upon my heart.
You’ve left me broken, sad and lonely,
Slowly falling apart.

You are my jailer,
Watching over me, in my cage.
At me you laugh,
And I fill with rage.

My heart was held by only
The thinnest of threads.
You came and cut it,
I wish I was dead.

Lonely, dark, damp and cold,
This world is way to cruel.
When people like him go breaking hearts,
I fell for him, I feel like a fool!

The door is solid,
Water fills the room.
My tears send it higher,
And I can see my doom.

While I suffer,
And my cries let out a ring.
To you heartbreakings a game,
And you’re the king.

You claim to be the best,
All you need is a crown.
While you’re busy heartbreaking,
By my tears … I drown.
