Sadness you brought
My inner light is darkening.
My joy is fading.
A sadness is growing.
My question is “Why?”
I thought, you loved me.
I guess, I thought wrong.
Why did you leave me,
Leave my heart, to die?
Tears so cold,
Mind gone numb.
Shadows closing in.
My heart has died.
When you left me,
Did you hear me?
On that awful night,
Those tears I cried.
I didn’t ask for much,
So why hurt me?
Not softly, not kind.
You dropped me without a thought
How have I been wrong?
How is your new love better?
Do you enjoy my pain?
And all the sadness to me, you’ve brought?
